Google Ads

Pay for the searches that turn into jobs, not the ones that don't.

What we see

Why it isn't working yet, and what we do.

Google Ads puts you at the top of the page the moment someone searches. Done right, it's the fastest way to make the phone ring. Done wrong, it's the fastest way to burn money.

What goes wrong

  • You're paying for DIY searchers

"How to get rid of ants myself" costs as much as "ant exterminator near me". One of them never calls.

  • You can't tell what's working

If calls aren't tracked back to the ad, you're guessing which dollars made money.

  • Every ad goes to your homepage

Someone searching for emergency water removal wants a page about exactly that, with a call button up top.

What we actually do

  • Campaigns built around your services and areas

Split by the jobs you want most and the towns you serve, so budget goes where the profit is.

  • Negative keywords, weekly

We read your search terms every week and block the ones that will never book.

  • Local Services Ads where they fit

The "Google Guaranteed" ads above everything else, for industries that qualify.

  • Landing pages that match the ad

One page per service, fast on phones, with the call and booking buttons right there.

  • Calls and bookings tracked

We track booked jobs, not just clicks, so you know your real cost per job.

How much of your ad budget is paying for the wrong clicks?

Searches for jobs you don't do, areas you don't serve and DIY questions all cost the same as a real customer.

$9,000 a year on clicks that never could have booked

$750 a month. Moved to searches that do book, that same money buys real calls.

You've probably thought at least one of these. Here are the honest answers.

YouI tried Google Ads and lost money.

CatalystThe usual causes are broad keywords, no blocked searches and every click sent to the homepage. We fix those before spending more. And we track booked jobs, not clicks.

YouThe big companies outspend me.

CatalystAcross a whole region, they can. On the few towns and jobs you care about most, they don't have to win. That's where we put your budget.

YouI'm too busy for more work right now.

CatalystThen we don't turn it up. Ads can be paused or narrowed to the jobs you want most. An account that's already built is much easier to switch on when things slow down.

Questions owners ask.

How much should I spend on ads?

We start with a small daily test budget, set for your industry. If it books jobs, we raise it based on your average job value and your profit margin, so spend only grows when it pays.

How fast will I get calls?

Campaigns usually go live about a week after we start, depending on how quickly you approve the ads. They can bring calls within days of going live. The first weeks are about learning which searches book, then we cut the rest.

I tried Google Ads and it didn't work. Why would this be different?

The usual causes are broad keywords, no negative keywords, no call tracking and ads going to the homepage. We fix all four before spending more.

Who owns the ad account?

You do. The account and all its history are yours, and you keep them if you ever leave.

Do you run Local Services Ads?

Yes. Where your industry and area qualify, we set up and run Local Services Ads, the badge ads above everything else, alongside your search ads. You pay for leads, not clicks.
